Notes:
- Each athlete is only ranked in a single race or age group category. Athletes may only be ranked in one group, but may request to switch to a *younger* age group if they wish. For example: Longseat 45-54 can request to be ranked in the general longseat group. Requests must be made no later than May 1, 2008. After May 1st, any NEW athletes not already ranked will automatically be placed in to their age group category...unless they request differently *BEFORE* their first race.
- Each athlete earns points per event by the overall event ranking, regardless of racing category or age category for the individual race. Example: Erica Davis earned 9 points overall in Redlands, despite being the only woman. She earned more than one point per race based on how she ranked over overall agains the men.
Why ? This system rewards good performance, even in categories with low turnout.
- All events in the series are Omnium events. Therefore, the points represented for the first event (Redlands), reflect total Omnium points for the weekend. All races in the series will be represented in the same way.
- Due to their National Championship status, there are *double* points available for the criterium in Rome, GA, and the RR and opening TT at the RMO. This means the total Omnium points for those events are BIG.
- YES! If you are looking for 'bragging rights' and you want to "mix and match" in the longseat category...or any categoy for that matter, simply rank your point total against any athlete(s) in another category. Example: Carlos Moleda would actually be 2nd overall in the Men's [general] longseat category, if he was under 45. Any results you suppose from the system mentioned in this paragraph are 100% *UNOFFICIAL*
