Sadler's Ultra Challenge Announced |
February, 2006
Challenge Alaska recently announced the dates for the 22nd running of the Sadler’s Ultra Challenge: The longest and toughest wheelchair / handcycle race in the world. This year’s race will run June 29 - July 4th. The 2006 version promises to be bigger and better than ever, complete with $25,000+ in cash and a new finale in downtown Anchorage on July 4th. In order to coincide with the National Veteran’s Wheelchair Games, the dates for the 2006 Ultra Challenge (usually the 3rd week of July) were moved-up. “The event will showcase the racers from the Ultra Challenge finishing in Anchorage while the [National Veteran’s Wheelchair] Games simultaneosly kick off…it should be very exciting!” said race director Heather Plucinski from Challenge Alaska.
