USHF Launches HC News Radio |
The USHF announces a new element to our website: HC News Radio, an audio-based news service to update the handcycling community with news from events all around the world. This new technology enables us to update readers [listeners] immediately from locations where there is no internet access. Areas such as Nenana, a remote Alaskan town which hosts a stage of the Sadler’s Ultra Challenge. HC News radio will also bring you interviews so that visitors to USHF.org can hear the views and opinions of athletes in their own words.
To start, we have posted our first radio story [below]: An archived story from the 2004 Sadler’s Ultra Challenge in Alaska. KTUU’s John Carpenter — a longtime supporter of wheelchair sports — offers his commentary on the event, its athletes, and its rich history. Included in the story are interviews with athletes Seth Arseneau, Alejandro Albor, Monica Bascio, James Lilly, Tony Iniguez, and Yevgheni Tethyukin. Also interviewed are race staff, Heather Plucinski of Challenge Alaska, and Ian Lawless of the USHF. If you are interested in partcipating in the 2006 [22nd] Ultra Challenge, visit the event website.
