ATHENS TWILIGHT CRITERIUM CANCELLED!
on 04-26-2006 23:34

The Athens Twilight Criterium in Athens, GA. on Saturday, April 29th has unfortunately been cancelled. The criterium was cancelled due to an unforeseen road closure permit that was just brought to our attention by Gene Dixon, the race director.

This was not USHF decision, the decision was just made this evening by the Athens Twilight Criterium. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. The USHF sanctions races and works collaboratively with promoters to promote the best possible races as part of the AHS series. The cancellation of the Twilight was something we could not have foreseen, but we are nonethless very disappointed in the cancellation being announced so late. As a result, we will be revieiwing our agreements and processes with promoters to insure that this does not happen at future events.
The 2nd race of the AHS will be the Wichita Cycle Fest next weekend, May 5-7, in Wichita, KS. The Wichita event has been designated as a local event counting towards the AHS points series.
